The Yokohama restaurant in Redwood City has been a constant of mine since I moved to the Bay Area. The restaurant continues to have a large and varied menu. The menu includes sushi, sashimi, appetizers, salads, miso soup, udon noodle soup, soba noodle soup, and bento boxes.
The restaurant has indoor seating and outdoor seating. Inside the tables are a beautiful maple color and the chairs are red with a lacquered sheen. The floors and fixtures are tidy and modern. Near the back of the restaurant is the sushi bar, where individuals may sit and watch sushi be made if they please. The outside has maple colored tables as well and metal chairs to sit upon. Broadway is a bustling street for pedestrians and is fairly quiet when it comes to street noise, making the outdoor experience very pleasant.

One one visit I ordered a California roll and the Chicken Udon Soup. The California roll had creamy crab and luscious avocado wrapped in seaweed and rolled in white rice. It was a very delightful bite!

The Chicken Udon Soup was served hot. The chicken was succulent and the udon noodles had the right amount of chewiness to them. There was spinach to compliment the chicken and everything was swimming a yellow broth that was not too rich.

During another visit I decided to give their lunch bento box a try. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki and a California roll. It was dark meat chicken slathered in a lovely teriyaki sauce that had just enough sweetness to it. The bento box came with salad, miso soup, gyoza dumplings, and white rice. It was very filling and delicious!
I love going to Yokohama restaurant and I hope you try it too!
