A smoothie is a beverage where fruit and sometimes vegetables are pureed together using a blender. The base of a smoothie is usually fruit juice or yogurt, but sometimes it can be plant milk or water. Many people enjoy adding honey, health powders, and nutritional supplements to increase the nutritional and health benefits of smoothies.

Our blender growing up worked overtime. My father was always trying new health shakes and smoothies. I did not care for them, because they included lots of powders and artificial ingredients that were meant to help with building muscles. These powders made the smoothies taste chalky. My brother and I preferred making smoothies with things like fruit and juice. We kept it plain and simple.

I created this recipe because of my husband. He loves drinking smoothies, but he is not the best at making smoothies. He usually does not measure the ingredients and just throws all kinds of fruits, vegetables, and other healthy foods into a blender. The results are usually gunky and the flavors do not meld together well. I wanted to create a simple individual smoothie recipe that was easy to create and tasted great! Please enjoy this recipe!
